I have 8508, 8509, and 8510 switches and they all fail NTP server time syncs, and they do not update their clocks. The 9528's do not have this issue, and work perfectly. The NTP server see's the client poll, but always fails.

This issue is seen across both java and non-java based web interfaces.

Hi Bill,

What NTP server are you using?

Is it a locally hosted one or an Internet accessible one hosted elsewhere?

If the former, what software package and version are you using for your NTP server?

If the latter, what NTP server are you syncing with?

I am running Meinberg v1.04 hosted locally on a Windows Server 2008 R2.

It is multi homed NTP server but devices across all the other vlans all sync perfectly.

At this point it appears the Comtrol switches which set outside the core switches all fail to time sync. The server see them poll, and responds, I have watched the exchange via Wireshark.

Hi Bill,

We tried it here with the latest version off their website and had no issues.
Also, you have a pretty old version of the NTP Server. Can you upgrade it to the latest (which is the one we tried) and see if there are still issues?
